Thirty Days of Kink: Day Four – Clues

Looking back in my life there are so many different times where the fetish world has piqued my interests. It almost feels as though there has always been some sort of kinky presence in my life. Trying to nail down a specific point in my life where the kink switch was flipped should be a fun trip down memory lane for yours truly.

DAY 4 : CLUES…

Wendy O Williams

Being a child of the 80’s, I’d say my earliest memory of anything kinky in my young life would have to be from my early love of punk and metal. I remember being very small and rocking out to bands like Iron Maiden and The Plasmatics. When I first laid eyes on Wendy O Williams, I wanted to grow up and be just like her. Most girls had women like Olympic Gymnast Mary Lou Retton as their role model but I was enamoured with Wendy O Williams. She did what she wanted to do and didn’t give a fuck!

Wendy O. Williams as an inspiration

From the things she did, the things she said and the things she wore on stage, I knew from outward appearances Wendy O Williams didn’t look like the ideal role model for a young five year old girl but what I took away from the experience was that I shouldn’t let anyone get in the way of my dreams. Her song “It’s My Life” has been the theme song to my entire life and when I begin to doubt myself I think of the ever beautiful W.O.W. climbing onto a rope ladder hanging from an airplane at the last-minute while driving that exploding car off a cliff. She’s given me the confidence to live my life how I want to not only as a person, as a woman but as a Domme.

Watching her live performances were also very special. I loved hearing she would go on stage wearing nothing but whipped cream one night and bondage gear with her nipples covered with electrical tape the next. The way she looked was amazing to me, invincible, fearless even. She was up front leading The Plasmatics while crowds basked in her glory. Often times the band members would also wear bondage or fetish related gear. If you search for The Plasmatics I’m sure you’ll find more than one picture of the guitarist wearing a gimp mask and maid uniform.

At such a young age I didn’t know what kink was but I thought it looked great! I loved the leather look, I loved the spikes look, I loved the ultra shiny latex look, I loved the spiked collars. It’s no wonder when I first walked into a sex shop years later that I was immediately drawn to the bondage gear section!

Just as an added bonus, here’s the late, great Wendy O. Williams showing the world how she lived her much too short life.
